Maybe USB over IP might work. Caveat: I haven't used it myself, so I don't
know how well it works.
Also, It might depend on the USB class device in use; I can't see a USB
isochronous transfers working very well over IP over 802.11, but it might be
worth a shot.
The USB device will have to be connected to another USB host that might as
well be a RaPi.
Just my (untested ones) 2 pence.
